Bactrim DSis an antibiotic drug used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including those caused byEscherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Shigella sonnei, Klebsiella gonorrhoeae, Shigella dysenteriae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus faecalis, Moraxella catarrhalis, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, and Providencia stuartii.
It can be taken orally, in tablet form, in hospital or intravenous form, and in combination with other medications.
Bactrim DS works by stopping the bacteria from multiplying, thus killing them. It is used whenE. coliis the cause of your infection and it is more effective in treating other infections.
